Basic Firearms To Include Handgun and/or Rifle Class - (4-5 Hours) Basic Firearms To Include Handgun and Rifle introduces students to the knowledge, skills and attitude necessary for owning and using a pistol and rifle safely. Through this course, the students will learn about pistol and shotgun parts and their operation as well as ammunition, gun safety, pistol and rifle shooting fundamentals, and pistol and shotgun shooting activities. The Basic Firearms Class with Handgun and Rifle will also help prepare the student for San Diego County CCW required firearms training course with the handgun. This course will include lecture, weapons handling and firearm live fire. Topics covered will be the laws regarding possession for home and the concealed carrying of the firearm. Emphasis on the laws and standards regarding the use of deadly force, avoidance of deadly force, the de-escalation of force and civil and criminal liability, firearm maintenance, four basic firearms safety rules, range safety, home firearms safety, the elements of pistol marksmanship. Practical application will consist of weapons handling, weapons presentation, holstering or slinging/low ready for shotgun and weapons qualification. Course is broken down into two sessions. First session is classroom, weapons handling and practical application with the use of our Immersive and Realistic Firearms Range and Personal Defense Simulator. Second session is live fire conducted at Iron Sight Indoor Range at 618 Airport Road, Oceanside, California 92054.
