Initial CCW 16-Hour Blended Course
This course will include lecture, weapons handling and firearm qualification. Topics covered will be the laws regarding possession of the concealed carrying of the firearm. Emphasis on the laws and standards regarding the use of deadly force, avoidance of deadly force, the de-escalation of force and civil and criminal liability, firearm maintenance, four basic firearms safety rules, range safety, home firearms safety, the elements of pistol marksmanship. Practical application will consist of weapons handling, weapons presentation, holstering, and weapons qualification.
Complete the instructional portion of your California Initial CCW training online, then schedule a separate in-person appointment with Shoreshot to complete your required firearm handling, qualification and exam. Once you have booked the online training course, Shoreshot will send you a link and an access code to the online training portal.

After completing the online training, you must schedule an in-person firearms qualification and bring every firearm you want listed on your CCW permit. During the qualification appointment, you will demonstrate safe firearm handling and complete the required course of fire with each weapon.
This online 16-hour course is intended for the Initial California CCW permit.
Important Qualification Instructions:
- Bring every firearm you want listed on your permit
- All firearms must be unloaded upon arrival
- Do not bring a loaded firearm into the facility
- Bring the correct ammunition for each firearm unless purchasing ammunition through Shore Shot
- Your qualification appointment must be scheduled separately after completing the online coursework
